Whats your opinion on the recent PS2 games?/Baldur's Gate is amazing!

For a while I was a little disappointed in the PS2 game library but towards the middle and end of this year some really good titles have been coming out. I've been playing Baldur's Gateark Alliance non-stop. I've already beat the game but I'm playing through it again already (thats something I never do)

Grand Theft Auto 3 is another game thats really well done. This title sets the standard for next generation fun games. The graphics are good, the overall fell is amazing and the most important thing is that the game is fun.


I'm currently looking foward to playing Final Fantasy 10 and State of Emergency within the next few weeks.

Has anyone played Max Payne on the ps2, how does it compare to the PC version

ive been very pleased with the ps2 since gt3 hit last summer.I finshed the ff10 demo and cannot wait to play!GTA3 is an awesome game.....but unfortunately my friend took it back when it goes down to 29.99 or so i'll be nabbing it again quick fast!~
Tho im really glad i threw down the cash to get another DC a couple weeks ago.I cant really ask for anything more in terms of games right now..

Elfenix i played the demo of Baldurs Gate.....it reminded me of a cross between Gauntlet Legends and Diablo 2......with very good GFX....

BGA is kind of an action RPG. Its very similar to Diablo, you're basically hacking your way through dungeons, castles, crypts, etc. There are several side missions (basically retrieving items) that you can do in addition to the main story. Even though the plot is nothing new or groundbreaking what makes this game so much fun is the fighting and the graphics. The graphics are the best I've seen in a game like this. It even surpasses the same type of games on the PC in terms of graphics and detail. The game engine is also very well done, its very easy to get into the game and its a lot of fun as well. Not to mention the multiplayer option. BG is a very solid game

so its not using the same battle system as BG did? odd... i would think that the ad&d rules would be used

It uses AD&D rules the same way the PC versions of BG use them... behind the scenes. The only difference is that in the PC version you are allowed to pause constantly during battle. Once you remove the pausing it becomes completely real time.

I need to get BG and pre-order FFX. I love my PS2!!
