What's your opinion of my design?

I've had my site for about a year at www.cosmiclattice.com and is getting too complicated.
I have an image gallery, forums, calender, blah, blah blah, and the design is getting too cluttered I think. For all you webmaster/designers/IA's out there, do you have any opinions of what I can do in terms of my Nav etc. Any help would be appreciated/comments critisism, whatever

It's simple. It's to the point. I like it. About it being too cluttered: it's getting there, but not quite. Almost, but still within reasonable taste. I like the calendar thing. Did you build that yourself?

only bad thing I can point out is the images in the menu, skip the images and only use text

you need to change the way left menu looks and works.

while the graphic buttons are good, they don't really stand out.
i mean, i took a quick glance at the page and thought they were some kind of ad's and ignored them the first time.

blue links on black background is a bad choice.
it forces the user to get very close to the monitor to see what the links are taking them.
you want great contrast, like black-white or black-orange (maybe).

LMAO at one of the avatars on your site. I clicked on a topic just to see how the forum looked and noticed that one of the avatars was loading a bit slowly. After it loaded I checked the properties on it, yup, 700K.

I made some adjustments, mostly just links now, and I upgraded to a new bbs package, and new skin.

Still with the little mac people I love those little guys. (sign up if you guys want )

does anyone else use invision? I used to use ikonboard and I find its rockin fast.

I am think of doing away with the frame nav, and putting it all at the top. Thanks for the pointers and such,
