I'm thinking an iPhone 5' if it has a 4" screen, and does voice & data at the same time on Verizon....

Merged with "what's your next tablet"....

Samsung Galaxy S2 if the international version drops in price some more.
Or whatever the next high-end phone is by the time I am buying, whether it is Android, WP7, or iOS.

Whatever the best 4G android phone on Verizon is come January when I can upgrade. If there is nothing that offers significantly more features over the Tbolt, then I will wait longer. Provided I can keep unlimited 4G of course.

Definately will get an iPhone5 if they increase the screen size.
Will pass if its still 3.5"
I'm still on T-mo so Im still waiting for their next super phone.
The Sensation didn't excite me.
Tired of the same ole 4.3" form factor from HTC.

The AT&T SGS2 (so I guess the Attain). It will be my first non-iOS Smartphone so I hope it won't be too big of a shock (aka "I will learn where iOS spoiled me"). It is worth it for me to have a bigger screen than I expect any iPhone to have in the next few versions, and to have the ability to play straight mkvs....

Sensation had a qHD screen, dual core, etc. Was a pretty big jump from the standard Snapdragon they've been using. Why mess with success with the body styling?

The SGS2 was on my radar when I was beating my ahead against the crapfest that was Sense on my Thunderbolt and when the RIL was stalled. But now that much progress has been made with the RIL and the AOSP builds are much more polished, its less urgent for me to upgrade again. I'm still watching for the SGS2 on Verizon, but I'll be able to hold off until AOSP builds are available.

But, as slow as the US carriers are moving with the SGS2, we'll probably see Kal-El and Krait before the national carriers have SGS2 spins. :p

Probably something on Virgin or Pageplus. Might even go dumbphone. It'll be next year so I still have plenty of time.

Just sold my iPhone 4 last week because I bought an iPad 2 (thankfully the jailbreak came out today, was getting antsy). I am using my rooted Atrix which was my work phone but now I have been using it day to day and finally have a better opinion on Android. I like the phone and software and all that but I have really been starting to miss my iPhone. Mainly the polish I guess you could say. The way you can tap to the top in the web browser to bring back up, the way text is rendered, keyboard is waaaay better in iOS (imo), screen quality and feel, etc. A lot of these things, especially the way the screen feels when I type on the iPhone versus the Atrix or any Android phone I've had, just feel less well put together I guess. Most things sounds like they don't matter but they all add up to a better user experience in the end.

So with all that, my next phone will be the iPhone 5 on day 1 hah.

I completely understand that. The polish is why my wife has told me "you can have Android toys, but I will keep my Apple stuff."

I won't miss that because for me the kinda crapierness of Android gives me nostalgia about my old buddy desktop Linux (without the evil X!). I will miss a few apps, awesome copy and paste, and the "I won't break it as much because it is less hackable" factor.

I know it has a qHD screen but I'm so sick of seeing the recycled 4.3" design from HTC.
I know theres only so many ways to design a phone but all the HTC 4.3" phones look the same to me.
And the original HD2 is still the best looking of the bunch.

I just got my next phone on the 5th before the infamous 7/7. Picked up the iPhone and ported my number from Sprint. I would have kept Evo but my work won't allow me to turn on corporate email through Android. Despite half of IT rocking out with their Android devices.
So the iPhone will have to do. A price to pay for getting my wireless bill reimbursed.
I already miss my EVO.
I love the way Android integrates things.
Up next I'll try a windows device. Probably wait for Mango.

I just upgraded from a Droid Incredible to Thunderbolt. I'm thinking this will be my next dream phone:

HTC WUNDERBAR (screw Apple, screw Samsung, and screw Motorola too)
- 1.5Ghz dual-core CPU
- 1.5GB RAM / 100GB flash memory
- 4.3" Super AMOLED display
- 12MP camera with rapidfire, and 1080p/30fps movie capture
- Dual-flash/dual-infrared lighting
- 3000mAh super high density battery, induction charging
- Worldphone (CDMA + GSM + 3G + Verizon 4G LTE)

Whatever Nokia's flagship WP7 phone is about this time next year.

I came in to say this.

But actually I cant wait that long, so I will settle for a lesser WP7 and wait.
Probably go tmobile, since they always have the best and most Nokias. Just swap the SIM when it comes out.

Droid Bionic might end up being better than the Thunderbolt.

Do you define better in terms of raw processing power? The OMAP4 based Bionic will easy trounce the TB in numbers, but the TB isn't crippled with the encrypted bootloader. Its anyone's guess whether or not the Bionic will have an unlockable bootloader.
