Hi guys...
I was just wondering : when you've just started up your pc, what's the memory usage ? Just the OS, no apps running...
I use windows 2000, and I've tried to disable all unnecessary services that sucked up my memory, but I get around 110 MB of memory used (shown in task manager) at startup.
here is the list of running services at startup:
Symantec Settings Manager
Symantec Event Manager
SAVScan
Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
Plug & Play
Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect
Protected Storage
Event Log
Workstation
Telephony (required for my DSL)
RAS-Verbindungsverwaltung (dont know the english term)
Network Connections
COM+ Event System
isnt much at all, huh?
my taskmanager shows this:
Explorer
ccApp (-> norton)
svchost
NAVAPSVC (-> norton)
ccSetMgr (-> norton)
svchost
services
ccEvtMgr (-> norton)
taskmgr
csrss
USDM (-> Epox Monitoring Tool)
winlogon
SAVSCAN
lsass
smss
System
does anyone know why all the same my memory usage (110 MB) is such high?
