Whats your lawnmower?

I just bought a Troy-Bilt rear wheel drive with zero turning radius castors in the front. Has a 6hp Kawasaki 179cc 4 stroker. Electric start. Its a beast

An ancient snapper pull-start riding mower. I didn't run it at all during the winter and it cranked on the first pull when I got ready to mow. I may never need or want another mower. It's that badass.

I have about 4 different lawnboys, 3 staggered wheel, 2 electric start, one pull start (D engine), one lawnboy M commercial unit, a big mow mower, and an old massey ferguson 8 tractor with mower deck.

I have some old crafstman self-propelled mower. I got it free while out walking the dog. It was parked on the side of the street with a "free" sign on it. While i was looking it over the lady who owned the house came out to tell me about it. The lady said the motor was seized up because neither her nor her husband could get the string to pull. I pulled it down the block where I proceded to press the safety lever that allows the string to be pulled. Started right up.

stupid people did not deserve the mower.

My mower is some old Home Depot special and I don't even know who makes it. I let the grass get pretty tall and I mow around flowering weeds and ornamental grasses that colonize an area. Sometimes some stunning wild plants put on a show for you if you just let them grow. I mow normal grasses. The yard is sorta carved out from the shade, if that makes any sense.

We have a 16 year old 5.3HP Craftsman mower. That damn thing is bulletproof, starts on the first pull every time.

At the moment, we use a push mower for a section of the front yard. I haven't mowed any of the rest of the yard this year (yet) - haven't gotten around to getting a new riding mower yet.

In the meantime, I use goats & llamas to keep the lawn mowed. At least... I try. They prefer the weeds in the pasture over the grass in the yard.

A Wheel Horse 112-C riding lawnmower. Recently got it for $200 from this old guy who bought it new in 1987 and took great care of it over the years. He even had all the original documentation, including the invoice. Replaced the battery, front tires, belts, a few springs, air/gas/oil filters, spark plug, oil change, a fresh greasing, and had the blade sharpened. Now it runs like new.

22" Craftsman w/ 6.0hp Briggs & Stratton, large rear wheels, pull-crank, pushmower

That and a '49 Ford Jubillee tractor w/ grooming mower attachment. 😀

I have a Troybuilt with a Honda motor that I got for free.

It's self propelled and mulching.

Some lady my wife works with was going to throw it away because the self propelled portion didn't work and the pull cord snapped (but was still usable).

I fixed the self propelled and just retied the handle down lower on the pull cord and have been using it for going on 2 years now.

Thing runs great and usually starts on the first pull.

Some John Deere riding mower, I wouldn't know the model no. or anything. It's small-ish for a riding mower though.

My lawn mower is a lawn mower.

Seriously, I have a Toro LX500 50" cut and two push Toro mowers.

Funny thing is, one of my push mowers is pushing 20 years old and cuts just as well as my brand new Toro Personal Pace. It's also much more solid than the new mower, oh, and way less of a gas hog too.

My advice if anyone cares: find an old, used self-propelled Toro. It will probably hold up longer than any new box store model costing ~$350.

Arid climate. It is really fuel efficient and requires zero effort. Then again all saved effort goes into growing food in said climate.

A 14 year old Wal-Mart special that has a Briggs-Straton 3.5HP motor. 20" cut push. Still runs fine after 14 years.

22" Craftsman 5.5 hp self propelled. Bought it for $50 (at less than 1 year old) when the old lady behind us died. I've had it for 15+ years. Still starts on the first pull.

We just bought a 1999 15 hp Simplicity Regent (a 38" deck, riding mower) of Craigs List for $700. It's replacing a 1984 7 hp Simplicity that blew a rod last year.
