If you were to close your eyes, and think of something that would make you the happiest person alive, what would it be?

Btw: We're not talking a single event like getting laid or buying a new comp part (hey, some ppl are the sad) but long term happiness.

What makes me happy??? Doing what I love and enjoy. To do this is what makes me happy.

A few years back when I was a corporate schmuck, there wasn't much happiness in my life ... well, at least not as much as I have now. :)

Being so rich I could spend my time split between travelling/vacationing and the rest spent doing SOMETHING worthwhile like an animal shelter (cliche I know, but still). More likely happiness would be in the form of having a $4500 PC at my desk with a huge flatscreen monitor, broadband connection playnig a game of HL2 and a ready supply of beer in the fridge. And it's friday. Heck if I really wanted I could make that dream come true this year :D

Me and my girl living in our own place, out of school with a modest salary. That would be excellent. Oh and guess what, I bet mine is the only realistic one here.

So I guess most of you will never find happiness, might as well kill yourselves now.

being alive, healthy, loved and being able to love. An added bonus would be to be financially secure to travel and get married, have kids, etc.

Money. Tons and tons and tons of money, all banked away.

Anybody who ever said money couldn't buy happiness obviously have never visited a pet store

Not really ... I thought my post was quite realistic. However, I will agree with you - lots of people are wishing for money and material things, when, in fact, they will provide little - if any happiness.

If you are doing what you want in your life ... and fine joy in it, you will be very successful. Does success mean millions of dollars? Probably not. However, you will earn enough to live comfortably. :)

Happiness... I'm happy now because I'm alive and enjoying life, but because I'm a victim of American materialism and have had access to material things, I would be happier (less stressed) if I had no debt... lived in a nice home with my fiancee and could go surf-fishing on the beach every morning and spend time with friends and family. Would be nice!

In fact I could reach my realistic one I mentioned in my post quicker than you could!

I could drop out of school tomorrow and do it, but my family has invested too much in my schooling for me to waste it like that.

And knowing that fact you actually could NOT do it tomorrow, because if you did suddenly it wouldn't make you happy, since the timing would be wrong. But I can still wait until HL2 is out, break out the old credit card, and have at it!

lol, how can you say the timing would be wrong? Are you living in my body to tell? I have a position waiting for me right now that I could go full time salary at about 30k a year which would make me very happy. That doesn't seem like a lot for you city folk but for me in Upstate NY that's about 5 grand higher than the average salary around here, so you live pretty good off that. Also, how can being in debt make you happy? heh

Well if that's your true happiness why won't you do it...? it's your ultimate goal. You say you can do it tomorrow, so why don't you? Because the timing would be wrong! If I saved hard I could have that 4.5k quite quickly anyway and then I have no debt and I've reached my ultimate happiness before you!

I would do it if it wasn't for my family. If you took them out of the equation I would do it. But if I did do it I would just be harassed by them which would ruin my happiness, heh.
