What's your HD's REAL transfer spead?

Withou all those fake benchmark programs, let's talk about "real world" performance.

Try copy a large file like 100MB from one HD to another HD, prefer both in different IDE channel. How much can you get?

I got around 2MB per second for 100MB transfer under win2k and between 1 Maxtor 27GB and 1 Maxtor 8GB. UDMA 33 is on.

my U160 SCSI drives own that.

what is the utility to find this out? i cant guess how fast by looking at the transfer bar.

I would tell you but I only have 1 U160 HD, and its definetly faster than 2MB/s
