Sorry if I left any off. If there's one I didn't list that a few people agree should be on I'll add it.

Rock band 2 should be on there IMO. The only game on there I've played is GTA4 and and I'm sure i'll enjoy fallout 3 more when I get it, so I'm not voting yet.

Yeah, I've got Fallout 3 on the way as well, can't wait to play it. I loved Oblivion.

Still finishing Gear 2 and only like 2 hours into Fallout 3 so I need to wait.

From the list so far I'd say Rock Band 2 but why is Deadspace not nominated?

Any seconds for the above game? I didn't think W@W did nearly as well as CoD 4 did.

Where is none of the above option?

I would have to say my game of the year is either Burnout Paradise or Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds.

Good point, Dead Space is a great game and should be up there.

This is why we need an official GOTY thread with different categories and member-generated nominations before the vote. Oh, and do it AFTER the year is up ;).

What else is coming out this year?

I've only played Gears 2, GTA4, MGS4, and RB2 from that list and MGS4 wins hands down.

Neopets Puzzle Adventure could end up being the sleeper hit of the year.

I voted Gears of War 2, just because it's the only game that I have been able to get my wife to play with the split screen co-op. She's not a good gamer at all, and it's nice for me to play on "hardcore" while she plays on "casual".

It would be a pretty close second between Fallout 3 and Fable 2 without the GOW2 co-op.

Persona 3 FES. I liked P3FES so much that I'd vote for it every damn year for the rest of time. It is _criminal_ how few people here have played it.

But, from what I've heard, Persona 4 is just as good, if not better, so that needs to be tacked onto the list, too. It'll be out this week, IIRC.

As for the list, you can safely yank Far Cry 2, Resistance 2, SSBB, and RB2.

There's the 2nd. Added it.

Odd as RB2 is one of the games that was specifically mentioned by several posters. I don't know much about Far Cry 2 or Resistance 2, but SSBB was a huge hit I thought.

SSBB was a commercial success, but I don't think anyone really thinks it's game of the year material at this point. Way too similar to SSBM.

RB2 surprises me, but, hey, apparently some people disagree.

Added. I've heard overall good reviews of the new PoP but I just dunno if it can possibly hang with the awesomeness that was the Sands of Time.

I've never played the other PoP games, so I'm thinking about it as a standalone experience. If the other games are better, then I'll definitely pick them up.

The first game was fantastic (although very...simple). The second was a bit of a letdown (still was an 8.8 or so on Gamespot). The third went back to the "light hearted" grounds of the first game and I liked it. Definately give them a whirl.

I don't think I've played many new games this year except Saints Row 2, Buzz Quiz TV and GTA IV. The vast majority of my gaming time this year has been spent on CoD 4 and Halo 3.
