boudin sausage... the cajuns stole it !!! mmnnn good

fresh sugarcane

blackeyed peas & hog jowl or fatback

pickeled boiled eggs

blackberry cobbler

baked sweet taters cooked in the fireplace ashes

scrambled eggs & calf brains

squirrel &/or rabbit fried /stew /pie /gravy

cracklin bread

corn pone in buttermilk

garfish balls

turkey gizzards

turtle soup /stew /casserole

collards & mustard greens

mussels from the river

cooters ... deep fried

ham hocks

cow tongue

tripe

& my all-time -favorite Ginger Stevenson before she had all them kids & got fat ....

Favorite poor or southern food?

That's an insult to southerners. The rest of the country has just as much poor white trash as we do.

Not all southern food is automatically white trash food. Much of our food is also called "soul food" up north.
