FTW! The special Edition DVD is next in my Netflix queue..

Thats not a western its a comedy.

Like comparing police squad with nypd blue....

As for the post, any western with clint and that french guy directing works for me 🙂.

For some of us, it's still the best "western" movie. I guess none of the other films qualify as westerns then either, as they are almost all "dramas."

And yeah, I'd rather watch Police Squad over NYPD Blue, too. 😉

the very same😀 the good the bad and the ugly is a very good movie. i must have watched it atleast 6-7 times. it is a bit long, but it's so good that time just flies as you said.

The minority, which dont count.....😛

I've always been partial to High Plains Drifter myself & I also like A fistfull of dollars, but TGTBATU happens to be the only western movie I own on DVD... bought the special edition the first second I saw it in Worst Buy.

I can't really pick a favorite, but I've always liked Young Guns a lot and watch it whenever its on tv even though I have the dvd. Actually I watch pretty much any western movie that happens to be on AMC when I'm channel surfing. I'm looking forward to their made for tv movie Broken Trail later this month. Robert Duvall was good in Lonesome Dove and Open Range so I'm hoping it will be good.

At the moment my favorite is probably The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance. I also love Once Upon a Time In The West, The Wild Bunch, The Searchers, and Unforgiven. A recent western that was great was The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada. More like a modern tale than a western, but it had a bit of a western feel to it.

What do you have against minorities?

For a few dollars more is also amazing. I can never forget the last scene where he is counting the dead bodies. And then *headshot*
"nothing old man...just having some counting problems!!"

Unforgiven. Prior to that movie Josie Wales. Another favorite is The Long Riders (James Gang movie with the Keach, Quaid and Carradine brothers), but all of Clint's westerns are favorites as well as many of John Wayne's and of course Once Upon A Time In The West and The Wild Bunch.

The Outlaw Josey Wales is the greatest movie to ever bless mankind.

Yes it's just my opinion, but I stand by it.
It's got so many awesome lines in it.
It's extremely enjoyable to watch every time, even after having seen it over 20 times.
It's great sober.
It's great drunk.

Some may say the acting wasn't the best out there.
Some will say the story had plot holes.
However, the characters in the film, as well as the story that's told, are just pure gold.

Lots of other westerns were awesome as well, Unforgiven, Blazing Saddles, The Unforgiven, Fistfull of Dollars, For a few Dollars More, The Magnificent Seven, The Wild Bunch, High Planes Drifter, and of course Once upon a time in the West.

I like the scene with Wales and Ten Bears. That to me is the best scene in that movie.
