What's your favorite "rewarding" credit card?

Since it looks like my Sony Citi may soon stop their rewarding plans, I'm looking for another credit card that gives good rewards.

What do you guys like to use? I pretty much use credit cards for everything and pay it off every month to avoid finance charge.

I'm leaning towards airline cards. (probably Northwest since I love going to Asia)

I have a Citibank Driver's Edge that's pretty cool. Between my wife and myself, when we buy a new car this fall we will probably get $900 back from them or so. Though if I wasn't getting the employee interest rate I would probably find a better deal.

My BP Visa is nice. I get 1% back on all purchases, 3% back on BP gasoline purchases, in the form of BP Prepaid gas cards (can be used for anything BP sells in the stores, I *think* even beer and wine). They offer online managment as well.

I use mine for everything and rack up quite a bit in free gas. I put my tuition on it and pay it right off, so they keep bumping up my limit ($13,000 now, I could buy a kia ).

An airline miles card might be good, especially now that some have partnered with paypal/ebay and you can convert points into paypal for auctions and such (I don't think you can withdraw the cash though). Still, I like my BP Visa, they mail out cards whenever I accumulate $20 in free gas so I don't have to worry about redeeming it.

Discover card is still 1% cash back, but not everyone takes it.

Just be careful with offers over 1% back, many require you carry a balance, negating the value of the cash back.

if you buy everything with the CC and you travel, get the airline cards. delta has a sweet codeshare program, and a very sweet miles program (as does USAir). with all of them, certain purchases (wireless phone bills on Delta, amongst other things) will get you huge bonuses of like 5,000 or 10,000 miles.

You can get one, you'll just have to pay an annual fee. After a year, cancle it, and you should be able to get anything else you want, providing you paid off the other CC and have a job. My first one had a $20 fee and a $500 limit, which was perfect for me. I bought some small stuff here and there, paid the bill each month, and a year later, cancled it and got my BP Visa. I'm 21 and have a $13,000 credit limit

Upromise card A percentage of everything I buy is put into a 529 plan for my son's education. Plus, I get bonuses if I buy certain items and shop at certain stores.

I wouldn't worry, if you are going to college soon there will be plenty of cards you can sign up for then that will have no fees and reasonable credit limits.

It has BVG "With the Best Value Guarantee, you'll pay the lowest price available on covered items purchased with the Card.
