My favorite is Echo.. it's still beta, but I like it quite a bit. (www.echo.com). It's mostly coded in Flash 5, and done very well. Sound quality is top-notch (if you're on a fast network).

Give it a try.

Hey this is pretty dope... where does the content come from though? Do they have deals with record labels?

I used to stream my own MP3 collection at Live365, you could control your playlists and programming with the option to stream live outta yer own home. They provide you with enough bandwidth for 365 users @56kbps, and optional online storage/management as well. And of course Shoutcast seems to be the most popular, mebbe cuz they've been around for ages. They hit over 15,000 concurrent listeners everyday but of course each station is run on its own server/bandwidth.

Hahah, ok... nice Budweiser commercial. =P

This is pretty kewl but I think it's more fun for broadcasters if they can control the content. Try Live365 - you can play those streams from an mp3 stream player (real, winamp, ms) plus you get to pick the songs as well as song order. You can link to your stream as well and just design your own website for publicity. If yer real ambitious setup a live stream outta yer own home or studio to their server, it only requires 56k (or less if you choose lower quality), and they'll provide the bandwidth for all the other listeners.

The only problem is you gotta actually have the songs to upload or produce the music/sounds for a live stream. 56kbps 22mhz stereo is the highest quality they'll let you stream at. If you have the bandwidth, make your own shoutcast server, allows content control AND server management.
