What's your favorite media player? Winamp, Sonique or the new Windows Media Player 7?

I like Winamp. But I use WMP7 occasionally.

6.4 is still going strong for me... playing MPEG and AVI files...

WMP7 is suck. I wish I could go back to 6.4. I use WMP for just about everything except MP3s, which I use Winamp for.

I love Sonique! The sound quality is unmatched, but I don't think it plays avi's or other video files, does it?

I use Media Player 6.4 for videos and Winamp for audio. I used to use Sonique because it was so much better sounding than Winamp, but then I discovered the old Fraunhofer-based MP3 decoder plugin from Winamp 2.22. It takes a little more CPU time than Nitrane, but sounds wayyyy better. By comparison, Sonique is a huge CPU and memory hog.

Winamp, because it is very lightweight and no frills. Sonique sucks because I don't know if it is an MP3 player or Epic Pinball. As for WiMP 7.0, don't even get me started

I use Winamp for audio also...

I just read that WMP7 can burn CDs? Does it burn audio CDs, or just burn mp3 files onto the CD?

WMP7 is okay for me. I'm using it for recording my MP3s to MD now. It's huge and a very powerful media player (it's just my opinion), and it's capable of burning media files to cd-r (using Adaptec software).

Winamp is the best. Sonique is too slow at startup, especially when you have a huge playlist.

I use audioactive's mp3 player... simple and it sounds good.

I use WMP 6.4 for avi, Quicktime for mov, and Winamp for MP3.

The Fraunhoffer Codec came with Winamp between versions 2.20 and 2.22 when the Nitrane decoder was being fought over in court. I agree...it does sound better than the Nitrane decoder....sounds fuller. Just watch any spectrum analyser while you use the 2 codecs...the difference is very obvious.

hmm, what's the name of the dll? i downloaded 2.22 from the site shudder gave us, and i dont find any codecs from fraunhofer.

in_mp3.dll is the file name in the plugins directory.
