SNES? Genesis? N64? Playstation?

What console holds the most amazing gaming memories for you?

mmm.. I grew up a HUGE Sega fan in the 80's so the Sega Master System and the Genesis hold a special place in my memories. Games like Shinobi, Space Harrier, After Burner, Outrun, Fantasy Zone, Golden Axe, Sonic, Streets of Rage, Wonderboy/Monster World series, Phantasy Star 1, 2 and 4..etc... all made me a big time Sega fan. Its too bad they are a total shell of its former self but thats life (and business).

My really first console was a Dreamcast. I loved that thing.

I really liked my modded Xbox too.

Super NES. Maybe NES.

I think there was a larger library of my favorite games from the earlier system.
But the SNES had two good Final Fantasy games, a crapload of fun shooters, and some nice classics like Super Metroid and Actraiser.

Then again, the NES had a cubic butt-ton of classics not the least of which was all 4 Dragon Warrior games.
I dont think the US ever saw any Super Dragon Warrior or Dragon Quest titles.
Of course, we also only saw half of the Final Fantasy games too. I had to get an emulator to discover the others.

Crap, I cant decide.
The first Playstation was nice only because I got it for FF7. I sold it long before number 8 came out and played it much later in Windows.

EDIT: OK the question was "which holds the most amazing memories for you" and that would have to be the NES.
Not that the Super Nintendo was bad, but the original just warms my heart a little bit more.

Because:
Faxanadu, Crystalis, The Legend of Zelda, Super Mario Bros. 1&3, Dragon Warrior, Final Fantasy, COMMANDO, Strider, Metroid, Wizards & Warriors, Goonies II, TMNT, Duck Tails, Mega Man, and at least another 20 reasons.
I miss the old days when the systems were weak and designers had to put effort into actual gameplay.

Has to be the original Xbox for me. It's the console that I played all through high school, and we had tons of Halo (2) LAN parties. KOTOR, Splinter Cell, Jade Empire, Ninja Gaiden. Most of my friends had Xboxs too (only a few had PS2s, and then the only game we played was Spiderman 2).

After that is the N64, that's the one that got me through middle school, but the Xbox wins overall because I got it soft moded to play the BAED, so I had pretty much every Genesis, NES, and SNES game to enjoy.

Although you can't top the older classics on NES, SNES and Sega Genesis...

N64 brought the mainstream 4 player action. I cant tell you how many rounds of Golden-eye and Perfect Dark I have played. Brought together all the kids from the surrounding areas.

Genesis for me, just because my Aunt spoiled me and bought it for me on the day it was released, so I got to be the first one in my entire school and neighbourhood with one!

I stayed up and played Altered Beast all night long and absolutely loved it! Phantasy Star 2 was probably my favourite game of all time. :)

SNES here. Some of my best memories were playing the likes Super Mario World, NBA Jam, F-Zero, etc. A VERY close second was the Playstation, simply because of Warhawk, Twisted Metal, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil.

Now had you asked me if I could only pick one to play for the rest of my life, it would be the Playstation hands down. But the SNES still holds a special place in my heart as my favorite console from years past.

Gamecube is number 1 only because it has Super Smash Bros. Melee. Greatest game of all time in my opinion. After that, it would have to be Genesis, Dreamcast, then N64.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System. There's no need to think about that one.

I almost agree about Melee. I would rank it as the third best game of all time, right after A Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time in first and second place, respectively.

Genesis was my first system, but my memories of playing it are very faint (Streets of Rage and Road Rash being exceptions). Most of my memories come from my trusty N64 which I still hook up and play from time to time. Just thinking of playing Ocarina of Time, Harvest Moon 64, and Space Station Silicon Valley makes me feel warm and happy inside.

The nature of your post would lead one to believe you played Final Fantasy 1 on your SuperNES.

How?
