What the title says.

I turn 21 this year and want to travel somewhere as a birthday present to myself. Problem is, I really have no idea where I'd like to go. I'd probably be staying around a week. Only condition I can think of is that I don't enjoy swimming, so basing my entire trip around an amazing beach would be slightly boring. Still though, list where you enjoy the most.

Places I've been:

Italy, France, Austria, Germany, England, Australia, Singapore, and obviously the US.

I spent a couple weeks in Ireland and absolutely loved it. I'd move there if it were feasible.

I'd go to the Czech republic, but not to prague. I'd stay more the the central western areas (Brno, Ostrava) and visit a bunch of castles. The people are nice, the food (and beer) is very tasty and cheap, etc. In general it is a great place to be.

I personally love going to Chicago and a few of its suburbs, but that's for reasons distinctly different from traveling. ;)

You've already seen a good portion of Europe, so I'd try something a bit different. Costa Rica would be a nice change-up - it's a relatively easy destination to get to, is inexpensive, and has a lot of variety.

Vancouver is nice for many reasons, like skiing and biking. Also for... other things.

Hmmm.. well I didn't really intend for this to be solely a "where should I go thread?", so much as a, "where have you enjoyed going?", thread.

However, I enjoy lots of outdoorsy things. I don't really like clubbing or that sort, and I'd be going alone so that probably wouldn't be fun anyways. But I like hiking, fishing, and camping. Only problem is that, with the exception of fishing, those are pretty boring to do solo.

My fallback plan is to go stay with some of my friends in Australia for a week, where one apparently owns his own bar. I guess that'd be pretty fun and I'd get to catch up with my old friends, but it's not really exotic, nor all that beautiful of a place to be. (Adelaide, for those of you Aussies yelling at me).

Vietnam. I've been there twice. Ride a Minsk motorcycle through the northern mountains, I have traveled all over the world and that is the single best trip I have ever done.

edit: City is Hanoi. 10 cent beer and beautiful women (both Vietnamese and foreign) all over the place.

I see what you did there, I think.

Utah, really. If you can avoid looking at the people who live there, the place is drop dead gorgeous, absolutely stunning.

Hearing that if I were you id go to Australia. Ive been there, and I had a blast. One of the big things with me and vacations that I found is that it isn't always where you go but who you go with. Going on vacation by yourself would in my view be pretty lame. Also if you go to the outback you have all of the things you listed that you like to do.

Heh, I've got no idea what you're talking about. I've been there a few times for various tennis tournaments and each time I've gone the women have been 10X better looking than here in CO.

Unless he's going to Thailand. That's assuming he's not a Japanese salaryman and doesn't get off on group "business" tours.

Go to Africa and climb the highest walkable mountain in the world, Mt. Kilimanjaro

Looks like you've been to a lot of the European countries, why don't you try going somewhere in Asia? South Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, all good places...
