The title says it all.... I'm looking to buy one. What do you recommed as best/fastest.....

What interface do you want (IDE, USB, SCSI etc.)? Internal? External? How much are you willing to spend?

Without a shadow of a doubt PLEXTOR! I have the 12/10/32A but the 8/4/32 is good too.

I have a IDE 12/10/32A and its amazing

if you want SCSI they have a Plextor 12/10/32 out now as well

anything with burn-proot.. which would be the 12/10/32 right now, or the new sanyo 16 write coming out soon. never burn a coaster again.

The more I use my Plextor 8/4/32, the more I think that Burn-Proof technology is intended more as a placebo effect than anything else. Whatever I do with my outdated BP6/Cel366@468, the drive keeps burning away at 8X speed without a hiccup. Maybe it's necessary if you're running on a Pentium/133 or something, but in that case I think you have more pressing concerns than a CD burner.

Never mind, I don't even have any burner(but my system have went through about 5 of them though.)
