I normally go for the action anime but that was a nice series, also a good one to recommend to a female friend or family member. Another "girls" anime that I enjoyed was

... silly but also sweet. Man does not live by robot and samurai violence alone

Yeah, Haibane Renmei is pretty damn far from my typical stuff as well, but damn, Beautiful show. Also, the soundtrack is the only audio CD that I own.

I forgot all about Last Exile. Though slightly wierd to me, it still has to be said that that was a great series. Sigh, I need to break out my piggy-bank again lol
