a penthouse pet? 🙂

how about a self cleaning, scentless, nonslobbering, auto sleep mode when not needed, dog.

none, most pets are a pain in the butt

ok, i forgot about the red tailed catfish, i would say that is the closest to a dream pet for me

i saw a show on tv about a guy that had a red tailed catfish that he could pet and hand feed

Well if you think most pets are a PIA, the redtail is no exception. These are often available very young often less than 3 cm in length! In a year they will outgrow most home aquaria exceeding 100 Gallons. They will continue to grow, need copious amounts of food and a strong circulation system with good gas exchange and biological filtration to remove ammonia. Accumulation of nitrates is always a problem that must be handled with frequent water changes. Not nearly as challenging as keeping a shark, but still more than what most hobbyists are willing to cope with.

Red Tails are very responsive to their owners as are most pimelodids. Pangasisus sp. are another fast growing "affectionate" catfish.

I second that one!

But as for an animal pet - I think I'd go for a hedgehog.
"What part of supersonic speed don't you understand!?!?!"

For an animal, a penguin that can tolerate warm weather.. like the one in Evangelion 😉

Otherwise.. Jessica Alba will do. 😛

exactly, that is why it is a "dream" pet, as you point out, i would need a monster aquarium to keep it properly , but it would be cool, if done properly

I have an iguana, he OWNS! I wish my apartment was big enough and he could live with me and not at my parents house.

Still a badass pet.
