What's your current main hobby?

drinking excessively and always pushing myself to make more money in life.

Also taking care of the kiddo. Not much time for anything else.

I guess also filling up my NAS with 4x8tb drives with a collection of linux distros.

2017 Haibike SDuro FullNine 6.0. I got it on Tuesday as a yer-end leftover model. MSRP is $4599, but I paid a lot less, about 40% less. It's an electric bike with a Yamaha motor, 500ah battery and a number of quality components. I started riding every weekend last year, and the ebike just allows me to go further and do it faster. Top speed is 20mph but its very easy to move the speed sensor from the tire to the pedal axle and that unlocks the bike up to 28 give or take.

Girlfriend and going to the gym are the only two I have time for on the regular. I guess cooking is a hobby too.

Family of four has been into rollerblading this past year. We go to a local rink.

My kids picked up and went with it very quickly, wife already knew how, so I'm the only noob in the family. After 5 months, I'm getting the hang of it.

Santa brought the kids skates for Christmas, wife and I bought a pair on Amazon.

For those who may be interested:

www.kidsskatefree.com

Sign up you kid for a rink near you, and they sent you free admission. Our local rink gives us Friday night and Sunday afternoon typically. We signed up almost a year ago, it was like $15 per kid.

So on a Friday night, my kids walk in for free, no rentals. It's $11 for wife and I, each, no rentals. They allow outside food and drinks, so we bring bag of snacks and bottled water

$22 for 4 hours of fun, and that means we can afford to give the kids a few bucks for the arcade games, lazer tag, etc...

Otherwise, I'd say guitar.

My hobby now is maintaining my past hobbies. 10000 comics, millions of sports cards, 13 70s mij guitars, vintage game consoles and 10000 vinyl records.

Thoughts/suggestions/brands. My normal is biking/elliptical but I've been thinking about roller blades for something different. Knees can't take much lateral abuse like racket sports. Running is out too.

Collecting photos of other people's excessive collection habits. Like Legos and comic books.

Don't know much about rollerblading, but it seems like it could be a problem for bad knees. If it's anything like four wheel skates, you have a lot of twisty motion to get yourself going, and wrecks/collapses could do a number on your knees.

Main: piano (classical)

Secondary: photography, hiking, cars, reading, gaming

Hate but do anyway so I don't turn into a slob: cycling, weightlifting

Rollerblading is MUCH easier than regular skates. Skate have 4 independent axis and blades are, well, blades. I have a shot knee (PCL graft) and still blade as its good exercise for my knee. 52 yrs old.

I bought basic blade runner by rollerblades for me and my wife, and younger son, older son go a pair of lenexa

If I had been into it sooner, and in the future, I will invest in a quality pair of hockey style blades. Tour seems to be a good go to brand, of course I want their $300 pair.

Since we are indoor, we got softer wheels, if you plan on going outdoor get harder outdoor wheels. If you're a noobie, stick with the stock bearings, and upgrade once you are confirmable with the speeds you're doing

Sorta, blades require more vertical balance, where as quads you can focus on your skating form and getting used to rolling

RC Sailplanes. Nothing like catching a low thermal with a hawk or Vulture and riding it to the clouds circling in unison.

I'd say my primary one is still gaming. Lately its been learning the intricacies of team based Overwatch.

Other than that, I just purchased my first pool table, so I've been playing a ton of pool, learning the ropes on that.

I also need to get back into music (bass guitar and chapman stick, hence the forum handle), I've gotten away from it in recent years, but definitely want to get back on the horse.

I don't really have one hobby. I have multiple and that I will pick one of to do.

- video games
- lifting
- fishing
- mobile development

My current hobby seems to be mining worthless cryptocurrencies at the moment.

I'd love to spend more time tooling around in my sports car, but I need more cash to make that happen.

For the past few months I've really been into building and flying racing\freestyle FPV quadcopters.
It's like playing a videogame, except you are actually outside doing something and often socializing with folks; unlike many tech hobbies.

This is one of my flights, still getting the hang of it:

54 y.o., acl reconstruction and torn cartilage X 2 by 1985. I'm pretty happy to be able to do the cardio that I can now. Just started with some swelling after a Saturday of yard work...crap.

Outside for sure. Do they still have the "brake" on the back so you have to 1 leg squat to use it? Might not be able to handle much of that. I would guess wrist braces are a must...

Did you order them or shop local. Same as your shoe size?

Hockey blades won't have a brake.

The brake method is still the same. I ordered all the blades online from Amazon, not all at once, but I try to shop local for stuff first.

The inline skates have been in step with the shoe size so far, hockey style might be different.

Here's a link to the blades I would get next, but more importantly information for skating, sizing, etc...
