What's your credit card APR? And how to lower them?

I have:
2 cards with APR 16.4% from Associates and Citibank
1 card with 17.4 from MBNA
1 card with 10.7 from AT&T

I tried to call MBNA to lower my rate and they told me my account was in review and won't be able to lower in 90 days.

what's your experience?

call them, tell them you got an offer in the mail for a card which was 2-3% less and a bit higher credit limit then the one you have with them now. Then they will say one moment, and probably retort with a 1-3% decrease in rate. This is true only if you've had your card for more then 3-months however.

Good luck!

9.9 From Bank of America (Visa)
9.9 From Capital One (Master Card)

Only reason I have the second one is so I can cancel the first if there is a problem. Both are fixed rate cards w/ high (wll, in my opnion high) limits and balences that typically get paid off on a monthly basis.

prime + 0.9% (currently 9.4) from citibank on all cards.

You just ask their retention department to lower it!

easy.

Call up your credit card company account person.
say these exact words...

"I'm considering balance transferring out my balances to a lower APR card, i would like to know if your retention department can offer anything to me to keep me as a customer".

My original apr was like 16% , i did it twice, to get prime + 0.9%, and will do it again to get prime rate in a few months.

As long as you have a balance, never pay late, over the limit, etc, they will ALWAYS do this.
