What's wrong with this?

I have a pentium 100 with mandrake 7.2 running OGR. It took almost 4 days to complete a work unit!!!I added the line to the /etc/rc.local to get it to run on start up. The machine runs 24/7. Samba also runs on start up because this is being used as a file server for my windows platforms. I'm really new to Linux and really don't have a clue. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm not that familiar with OGR, but don't the stubs vary in size, and are sometimes very large? On a P100 that might take some time to complete one.

Have you checked running processes to see how much CPU% is being used by each? Samba shouldn't take too much, though. Look for something called "ark". It's a pig, and I've occasionally found it running on my Linux boxen.

If you don't know how to check, I do it by running top in a terminal window.

Thanks for the tip. I was wondering how to do that. Dnetc is using around 92% of the cpu time. Guess it is just a big stub.
