Whats wrong with this EIDE DVD-ROM drive?

My first ever system build came to life successfully last night. Vista Ultimate 64-bit installed smoothly and identified almost everything.

I have 2 optical drives. One SATA DVD-Burner and one EIDE DVD-ROM. (both Lite-on) When I powered up the system only detected SATA drive but not the EIDE drive. I re-checked all connections and everything seems alright. Green LED on the front of this drive lights up at boot up as well as if I open-close the disk loader. But neither BIOS nor Windows Device Manager shows the drive. I tried putting a CD in it anyway but nothing except the green LED flashed...

What could be wrong?

Appreciate the help!

Well, what about the obvious stuff:

Is the jumper still in there? Is it set to slave or master? What's your hard drive, SATA or EIDE? Does your BIOS have an option to turn off the IDE controller? Have another IDE cable you could test this with? Another computer you can test the CD Drive in to see if it's recognized?

There's some basic troubleshooting to be done here before we can answer you.
