what's wrong with people?

I'm sorry to do this i know this is gonna get locked. However, this problem really bothers me. Why do we have so many repeated posts clogging everything up? Why do people try to take credit for someone else's deal? It's as if they read about a hot-deal in this very forum and then forget that they got it from someone else and post it again because they think they have come up with such a GREAT deal. I've seen it countless times even though I am a junior member. I've seen it with the PS2's at playstation.com, the DC3200 digital camera, the TDK CD-R's at Compusa, and on and on. Any time there is a remotely hot deal, there are 5 people posting it one after another. This doesn't help anyone find a hot deal. I'm very sorry that I posted this in the Hot Deals forum but I knew it wouldn't have gotten read by the people who NEED to read it if it was in another forum. Please don't flame me or ban me from the forums because I really do love these forums and I think the concept of people helping each other get good deals is GREAT. Please run a search before you post "your very own" hot deal. Agree? Disagree? Lemme know before the lock. Once again, sorry to have to do this.

Yeah, this is a real problem, but some of it lies in the posting, and some in the searching. Sure there are some who don't bother to search for old threads, or don't search effectivly, but people who are posting should also learn to put key words in there so people CAN search for them. Dats about it...I won't yell at you for posting in the wrong place...though someone is bound to....I'll say

It doesn't bother me as much as "Price Check" posts. But think of it this way:

If you don't reply, it doesn't get bumped to the top. Let your silence speak for itself.

I don't think most people are trying to "steal" someone else's post, or take credit for it. I just believe that they don't take the time to research previous threads (or they do not know how to) to make sure the information was not previously posted. It's annoying, but it happens to everyone! Sometimes, you just want to be the first one to announce *this* new hot deal; you want to be the first one so badly that you just forget to (or bother to) check for a repost. When threads get locked, I think the authors eventually get the point and understand why only one version of the thread stays open.

What are you gonna do? This forum is about HOT DEALS. So people get excited or overzealous and want to put something up that's a deal.

Note to the mods out there too:

Instead of wasting your time bitching and locking threads you dont like, why dont you delete some threads of repeat posts,etc.
Do something productive.

I think that would do us a lot of good by getting rid of posts that are reposts and bump the original thread so everyone can benefit from it. I hate seeing people take other people's credit because they don't do a simple search.
