i tried to reinstall windows but i had to stop in the middle of the installation. now my lite on 32x12x40 drive isn't reading cd's. the drive is detected and supposedly working normally but whenever i put a cd in, the light just blinks and few times and the cd doesn't spin. when i go to my computer and double click on the drive, it doesn't ask me to put a disc in but goes directly to the drive directory (there's no cd in the drive) can anyone help me out?
 
I take it your still running the original install of 98 then? You could try removing the drive and then adding it again so it redetects and reinstalls.
