The icon down at the taskbar says my signal strength is excellent...but my Mbps was only 1...my modem/router is about 15 feet away(literally just a wall away) I dont understand...reason why its working now is i reset the router and it got a signal again and now its excellent and runnign at 54Mbps...this has been happening to me alot...is it a router problem or adapter problem?

Could be a router problem. Try downloading the latest firmware update for the router from the manufactuer's website.

Wouldn't hurt to download the latest driver for the Wifi NIC as well.

I agree with pengiun, Definetly check for a firmware update for your router. It is a very simple process. If you dont know where to go for this, post your router model.

I don't see it anywhere in his post about his main rig being wired to the router. The only thing mentioned was signal strength, which indicates WiFi. And his previous thread said both his laptop and desktop connected wirelessly to the router.
