my computer doesnt detect my 60gb WD hard drive. when i put it on its own ide channel it makes my computer freeze, but when i put it as a slave with another the computer can load windows, but the hd is not detected. I tried it on another computer and it only works when its used as a slave to my 120gb drive. anyone know whats goin on?

Sounds like bad jumper settings... Are you sure the jumper settings you're using for Master/Cable Select are correct?

some WD hard drives need to be set to single to make them show up if they are on their own cable, Usally to set a WD drive to single just pull out the jumper and run it with out jumpers. if it on a cable with another drive make sure that it is on master.

Maybe you could share more info on the system configuration; mainboard, other drive, windows version, etc
