Whats wrong with my cell phone?

Ok so i have a Motorla v551 from cingular. I have no reception where ever i go.
I took the sim card out and put it in my old samsung x247 and it works fine.
I took my moms sim card and put it in my v551 and no reception.

Obviously the problem is the phone. i replaced the antenna but still is broken.
what could the problem be?
