I get sick.... not drunk, but sick.

I remember back in the college days, when I drank, the only uneasiness I experienced was the EFFECT of being drunk.

Now if I even try to enjoy a third glass or beer or shots, I don't get WEAK and drunk, I get sick. wtf is up with that?

Pussies. I drink every night, and wake up the next morning feeling fresh.

No I feel CHEATED because it's not like I should be called a weaksauce because I get drunk easily. I don't even get drunk, my mind is fine but my body gets SICK - like with flu-like symptoms.

what the hell is that??????? I'm only 26.

Do you tend to be dehydrated regularly? I find that people tend to get sick much more easily when drinking if they are dehydrated already. Drink a glass of water or two before hand.

Welcome to getting old.

Do not pass go. Do not collect buzz. Go directly to hungover.

Lol, you are wondering what is wrong with your body because you get sick when you ingest poison?

Seriously though, I think Xavier is on to something with the dehydration thing. Have you tried drinking at varying levels of stomach fullness as well?

oh crap.. that may prove to be useful. I drink water throughout the day in the office. Maybe I should try that.

Since I've gotten older I'm started getting queasy in the morning after drinking whereas it used to just be a little headache. Maybe it's because I'm not drinking as often as I used to or possibly dehydrated. It's most likely a combination of a lot of things.

two things I can think of that may be causing your problem are that you've acquired an allergy to alcohol or you're experiencing an alcohol-drug interaction

The big 3-0 is a little over a year away for me and already I can't drink anywhere near like I used to.

10 years ago I'd wake up from a night of drinking with a bit of a headache and feel like crap. A few hours later I'd be fine.

Now I wake up feeling ill with a headache and I have the runs. I feel out of whack all day long.

Tomorrow I'm having a big Rock Band party at my house and I'm going to try drinking more water this time.

I can drink way more now than I could even 5 years ago. I think it is because I am in better shape or something, or maybe my liver just stopped fighting it and lets everything just pass right through, I don't know. Either way it's much more expensive to get me drunk than it was before and not just because of inflation.

Once you hit 30 or so, your metabolism starts to slow down and your organs (liver, kidneys, stomach primarily) start to feel the strain of the days when body shots and keg stands kept you occupied all night long.

No flu like symptoms for me (thankfully!) but I sure as hell can't drink like I used to. Now I feel unpleasant and groggy the morning after only handful of drinks. When I was in college a slight headache would be the only result of some hard partying the night before - I was more worried about waking up next to a seadonkey than being sick/hungover enough to miss class.

You definitely have to scale back your drinking once you don't have a gerbil-like metabolism anymore, so yes, I guess the answer to your question is - you're getting old. Sorry, but it happens to the best of us. ;)
