I recently bought 96 Lincoln continental I've driven it a few times never had a problem, I went to get gas, the ride to the store (14mi) it drove OK I took off after i got gas the car wouldn't pick up speed when I let off accelerator it slowed down immediately not the slow gradual as before. I drove less than a mi and it would not go past 25 the gas pedal was down to the floor I pulled over thinking it was the trans fluid and that was fine. I turned around to the gas station and i smelled something hot and when i stopped to park a plume of white stinky smoke came from front passanger tire. i didnt dare drive it the 14mi back home w my kids. My neighbor said it was making a loud noise when i left and thought my e brake was on.i dnt remember seeing the brake light on. Also idk if this is related. before i left I unlocked my car w the key as the key fobs batterys dead, the alarm went off, and again at the gas station i had to undo the battery to make it stop.idk if that would make the car do this the prev owner said she barley drove it but didnt have any probs. One more note; the car didnt pull to any side,i didnt hear any airplane type noise (like a wheel bearing noise when its going out)please someone give me ideas I just got this car.
