whats wrong my with laser printer

Try printing out a page with a black background, just plain black, not any gray shade
Try printing out a blank page
Try printing out a light gray page

I was hoping maybe it was just something I could dust off or something and not have to buy anything for it 😀

same part of paper always

black comes out a somewhat uneven dark gray with the big line through it
gray comes out a somewhat uneven gray with the line through it
white is white with faint specks of toner on it and a razor thin black line on what was previously each side of the black line

well, we've determined what the problem is.

your printer has herpes.

🙂

honestly, though, if its on the same part of the paper each time, its probably the drum. if its under warranty, just take it into the store, otherwise, iunno. touching the drum is generally not advised, just be careful with it.

ohhhh no the abyss of the peripherals....thats like the death sentence 😀

I knew I should have worn rubber gloves. Its actually an epson action laser2 and hasn't been anywhere near warranty for many years now. My inkjet died and they offered it to me at work to try to get through the last semester of college with. Apparently it has expired since it went into storage 😀
