what's worse on the body, alcohol (budweiser) vs. soda (coke)??

what's worse on the body, alcohol (budweiser) vs. soda (coke)??

this debate just came up at my aparment, im leaning towards alcohol being worse. any remarks?

Beer in moderation is actually good for you. That can't be said for soda, unless you count drinking watered down Sprite while you're sick. Overall fitness wise, they're both empty calories.

how is beer in moderation good for you? this is something I was raised to think alchoholics tell themselves to justify their drinking habits.

MODERATION. If you think of alcoholics justifying their drinking habits, that is NOT moderation. Moderation is a glass/can of beer a day or a glass of wine a day.

I'll let Google's search results speak for themselves

Calorie wise, both are worthless, i know, i know, vitamin b is in beer but did you know that most soda uses vitamin c as an antioxidant?

Does it matter? No, of course not, however, one contains a solvent that is toxic to you and one does not, so beer is most definently worse.

What it is is high GI carbs and with beer you get alcohol too, great at slowing down your metabolism and has 7 calories per gram.

Beer is at least as good, if not better, for you than wine. In moderation though which means 1-2 a day. Obviously most young-ins don't drink it in moderation so there goes the health benefits. Coke has no health benefits but I think it's harmless when not consumed to excess. Both are empty calories so if somebody is overweight because of them that's negative for your health.

yeah i drink inmoderation..I just get the weeks fill in on saturday!

jokein..i enjoy beer but I'm a lightweight. i have more then 4 and I'm tipsy.

though i do have beer about 3-4 nights a week.

a beer (12oz not a 40) a day is actually good for the liver, kidneys, and blood pressure. supposedly better than a glass of wine a day. I don't drink personally, but see nothing wrong it.

Depends on how you view it. Alcohol in large amounts can be deadful. Coke in large amounts can't be deadful. That being said. Coke is more detrimental to the body in terms of a long lasting effect.

Stick an iron nail in coke and in four days it will be disolved.

Sticking a dietcoke underground and then puncturing it is dumping toxic waste and is punishable by law.

The right michelob ultra (notice how im pushing right) has less calories than a coke.

Foodwise, everything in America is "bad" for you. Drink what you will enjoy, whether that be coke or beer, just don't drink too much of either.

The first is a proven urban legend. The second one is just ridiculous...

I think they're both really bad for you... Toss a coin cause they both do bad stuff to you. It's like asking which evil is MORE evil.

How can anybody not know this? Everytime a new study comes out that shows beer, wine, or other alcoholic beverage are good for you in moderation, it gets sensationalized by the media.
