With either injury you have little chance of being able to run again, but with advances in surgurey you shoudl be able to walk...
I think the gunshot to the kneecap would be the worse of the two though.

I'd rather the tendon cut. Gunshot is messy and unpredictable.

F the gunshot. ball peen hammer to the knee caps FTW! a gunshot you could damage nerves then ya wouldnt get the full effect. with the hammer ya just bash the S out of it and youre good to go. if that doesnt bring you enough joy then do the tendon deal. that way they feel it all no (ok well a few) nerves hurt.
