my designated parking spot is under a tree that gives me shade but also leaves some sort of residue (sorry don't know what it is and what tree).
best way to describe it is when, when my gf got into my car, she said it's raining, why am i not using my wipers?
and it wasn't raining. just clear, tiny drops that looks like rain drops.

it's either this, or the sun beating on my car.

Sun fade takes aeons, especially if you regularly use a quality wax/sealant after washing.

Parking under a tree invites bird shit, which will etch you up quick.

Stay in the sun.

agreed, i park in the sun. i still get plenty of bird shit, but it's better than bird shit x4, sap, and everything else that falls from trees.

I park under an oak at home and get those clear sap sprinkles as well. Doesn't do it all year round though.
It just washes right off with water, no big deal. Won't harm the paint, but then, neither will sunlight.

I'd rather get bird droppings in the shade where they don't bake on as badly as they do in direct sun.
