whats with wearing facemask in an NBA game??

i saw rick hamilton wearing that thing. how is he supposed to impress the ladies lookin like that??? i mean its televised too so everyone gets to see it. he should decorate it and put on some war paint.

on a serious note though, why does he wear it?? do ppl get smashed in their face playing bball?

 

Did he recently break his nose? Sometimes players wear those if their nose is still healing from a break.

You've never had a ball fly at you and turn around just in time for it to smash into your face? What about someone trying to swipe the ball from you only to gouge their way through your face?

Iono, I'm just guessing those might be some reasons some of them wear it; some bad past experiences.

I assume he had an injury to his face and now he plays with it so that it doesn't get reinjured. it's not for style.... :roll:

yeah, he had surgery to repair his broken nose.

screw that, if i were him, i'd just sit out as many games as it takes for his face to fully heal. not worth it lookin like a nerd on tv. unless he could someone pimp it out with some paint, and some horns. make it like those samurai faces. those are sweet.

man seriously though, it would look so tight if he painted it like a samaura face place armor. did you see gladiator?? that bulky looking dood that russell crowe fought with the tigers. he had that golden face armor. something like that in the NBA, it will start a new trend.

Sometimes the management will just make sure the bballer plays! I remember earlier this season Stackhouse wanted to sit out the rest of the season--until the organization denied it saying that he's well enough to play!

I take it you're not an athlete....athletes play injured and are hella competitive and want back out on the court as soon as possible.
