Whats with this vomiting?

I have trained hard and early at 5 AM for the past few days and this morning during my workout, I had to barf BAD. And I did. Why is this happening? My friend said that im not drinking enough water. Advice?

Yeah, my friend drank lots of soda and then we started doing PT for ROTC. On one fateful morning, after the run, he just hurls. He quickly realized the error of his ways and cut back on the Soda drinking.
 
I always drink water before bed. you should drink a lot during workouts anyway but I'm not sure that's the cause of this (though it's a good idea to drink it as I mentioned). In the past when I've gone really hard for an extended workout I've felt very sick as well *shrug*
