I can watch dvd movies with no problems. I try to use the tv tuner and it seems to be going alright. Until I open the options, then the system usually crashes.

If I touch anything in the options oftentimes the screen will freeze up but the sound/video of whatever channel I was watching continues, I can pull out the cable, get snow, plug it in and continue watching whatever chanel it was set to. I cannot change stations though, sometimes I can see my mouse pointer and other times it disappears, but the clicks never do anything. A couple of times when I was in the options the monitor lost all picture and the happy Green LED on the front of the monitor went to an angry orange.

I am using a 19" crt monitor (NEC accusync 90).

Any ideas?

I bet you are using the drivers that came with the CD. You need to use the latest beta drivers to fix the T.V. tuner lock ups.

You can get them in two flavors. 1. The ATI beta drivers found on the ATI site or 2. The latest DirectX 8.0 beta 7041 drivers found at Rage Underground I use the 7041 drivers because they have the best T.V. picture quality and the DVD picture is amazing!!! Oh, plus they are the fastest yet. Give em a shot.

Not that this is from personal experience, but i remember reading that some people had turner problems, and that was because WebTV wasn't installed.

To AIW users:

Get the new drivers that Toonces pointed us to. It improves the quality of cable video and it makes it more stable. Also, if you are crashing like me, first look at your desktop resolution. Tv functions don't like 1600x1200 (even though I do.. if you've got really good eyes I say use them until they aren't any good anymore cuz you won't get another chance...).. Now I'm not crashing anymore at all :) but I'm in 1024x768 :(
