This is the first time I've ever seen them here and if they're in the area you can't miss them cause they are freaking loud. There was probably 50 or so in this flock that took over these 2 trees on my block but it sounded like there were twice as many. They left for a few hours and came back. I don't know if they slept in those 2 trees last night but this morning while leaving for work there they were again.

So where did they come from? Are they just flying through on their way south for winter because I doubt they're native to the area.

Probably an invasive species that has been breeding from parrots that have escaped captivity.

I've seen large flocks of parrots in the South Bay area. They've been triving and expanding their numbers there for decades.

Domesticated pets released into an enviroment with ample food and hospitable weather. Similar to how marine birds have followed Dumpsters into the midwest.
