What's with these crappy I/O panels?

The last four motherboards I have purchased come with a thin POS I/O panel. It doesn't seem to matter if you purchase a $50 motherboard or a $300 motherboard you get the same POS thin I/O panel to cut up your fingers on and scrape up your USB cables.
