Whats with the upside down PCI slot?

I've seen this before, on some boards its a blue slot.. in this pic its the slot right next to the AGP.

what is it for?

AMR thingy.... Used for modem and sound cards...

Maybe they should just have special things for each type of card? Like a pure modem slot, a pure sound card slot, a pure uhm...other slot?

It's an ACR slot. It's for cheap Modem and NIC's for OEM's, basically yet another variant of slots like AMR
