What's with the SETI servers?

My production was low yesterday and I figured it was due to a stats timing issue. I checked my work SetiQ this morning and found I have over 300 results/WU's to upload and only 67 WU left in my queue! :Q

Not only that but right now I've got 32 WU's in my \dropped folder and it's going higher as I'm still dumping finished WU's. WTF is going on? Why is SETI kicking these results back as duplicates? They can't be more than a week or two old because we just went through this crap a short while ago and I copied all of my \dropped folder back to the \SetiQ folder.

I'm getting tired of this crap. We've always had a buggy client (with low angle WU's) but more recently we've come to discover that there's been a hacked client running for a long time and now we're back to server problems again. Oh nice, I just checked my \dropped folder again. I've got 91 WU's in it now. Thanks Berkeley... :|

No probs here.

BTW have you seen this?

After several days of attempting to fix the damage to the database, we've come to the conclusion that a restore is the only remaining option. We're taking the opportunity to modify the server configuration for what we hope will be enhanced reliability. Malfunction of the RAID controllers has been the cause of most of our major outages. We've decided to stop using hardware RAID and move to a software RAID configuration. Software RAID will allow is to mirror and stripe across controllers, so the failure of a single controller should not shut us down or lead to an unrecoverable situation. We're in the process of reconfiguring now. The restore should start tomorrow. There are 13 tapes that need to be restored. Last time it took about 4 hours per tape, so that's a bit more than two days, assuming we don't sleep.

I'm uploading and downloading WU's now but I'm still getting a bunch that are being reported as duplicates. I just moved them all back into the \SetiQ folder and restarted it before leaving work for the day.
