What's with the see through visors on Asian women?

Basically it's a visor with a big and long bill that is see through. Mostly tinted with a yellow or orange color. It is worn with bill covering the whole face. The only people I see wearing these things are Asian women. I'm just curious as to why. I know some elder folks need those large wrap around sunglasses due to their eyes being sensitive to bright sunlight. Is this the same case?

Something similar to this but bigger as it covers the whole face.

i have never seen this.
i do remember tacky see through visors in the past..and yes as souvenier type garbage only. the disney ones even had little led lights from what i remember. strapping a 9v battery to your head is just a tad silly;)

Maybe they are welders?

Or Maybe they walk really fast and so need a bug shield

My mom uses that when driving. I think it is weird, but to each his/her own.

I think it has to do with Asians fascination to be paler and not tan. A asian girl with a light complexion is thought to be beautiful. Only rich people have light complexions in the old days because they didn't do manual labor outside.

I highly doubt those offer any kind of uv protection. If someone wants to block the sun, a hat with a solid brim is the way to go.

I think women wear them to keep their face from the sun. Over in Asia, women Iike the look of peel or white skin instead of the tan look we accustom to in the States. Personally, they look stupid and most of the women I saw wearing them are above 40 yrs+.

I've seen people wear these while driving too. I was assuming it was light protection for when people get achemical peel on their face where they peel off like 3 or 4 layers of skin. I think after you get those done your supposed to avoid direct sunlight for few months to avoid sunburn.
