Ok, Nissan does make good cars, no doubt about it...but personally, I think they are pretty ugly, especially the back of the cars. They are nice, but so many people here make them out to be the godsends of cars...I don't really think THAT highly of them.

Try actually owning one.
Besides, it's just like all the people that say BMW's are the best, or Ford or Chevy, or if you don't drive a domestic you're a ricer.

I have a stick, and am now looking for a dead horse to beat, cause that's all this thread is.

It's all about the VQ baby!!!!! :p

Personally, I think it's the fact that they came back from the bring of extinction so quickly. I've always liked Nissan since they started making the '89-'94 Maximas. That car was lightyears ahead of it's time :) They are constantly churning out QUALITY products.

Hahahahaha...was that a Freudian slip in your title? You are exactly right...you would have to be living in a FANTASY world to be FANATIC (not fantastic) about nissan...

Reliable, quick, sporty, great-looking (okay, so that one's subjective) and relatively inexpensive.

The pinnacle of Japanese engineering.

There may be a lot of Nissan fans around here, but there are also many people who bash Nissan. I've read tons of posts denouncing Nissan styling and the quality of some of their interiors.

Many makes have a lot of fans on this board. Mazda, Honda, VW and others have a lot of "fanboys" as well.

There are fanatics for all makes and models... look at the Honda fanboys or Nissan or Mazda or GM or Ford...........

People can't think for themselves anymore.

'90-'96 300ZXTT, 350Z, '91+ 240SX, '98+ Altima, '00-'03 Maxima, SE-R V-Spec, R32-R34 Skyline...

That's what's with the Nissan fanaticism.

Simple, they make affordable cars that are reliable and FUN to drive.

That's why I like the Maxima - Great engine, awesome midrange power, fun to drive, spacious and comfortable.

Nissan is a company that offered a limited slip differential & 7k RPM redline torquey 4 cyl engine & fully independent suspension in a economy car in the early 90s -- the Sentra SE-R. How many other companies offered that? How many companies offered VLSD + 5-spd in a 4-door V6 sedan with fully independent suspension (which changed to multi-link beam type - but still fun to drive). How many companies offered passive rear steering in a sedan (the 1st gen Altima with its toe-out during hard cornering).

Nissan cars aren't for everyone (as NFS4 often states). They don't have awesome interior (well the 4th gen Maxima GLE and 1st & 2nd gen Altima does), but they have stellar reliablty and are very fun to drive! Which is wat the enthusaists want.

cause if you take care of it, you'll get 300,000 miles out of it. Maybe a clutch replacement at 100,000ish :)

Name the other RWD coupes from Japan and you can see what makes Nissan unique.

*cough* Supra *cough*

Oh yeah, and the MR-2 if that counts as a coupe.

He means affordable Japanese RWD coupes.

Affordable is subjective, that is moot. Also, the Supra is a much more comfortable car than the 240, not to mention faster. Of course it is more expensive. Oh, and back when, even Celicas and other compact cars were RWD from Toyota. And Toyota's are more reliable. :)
