The vacum tubes produce a cleaner/better audio signal from what I understand. The ultra high end audio equipment still uses tubes. This board is aimed at people who want a ultra clean signal.

Actually, it's the opposite. Tubes introduce distortion that makes the sound seem "warmer". But yes, tube audio gear is fantastically expensive.
