My microwave or HDTV didn't come in a box with a scantily clad woman on it... Not even other gaming products, like an Xbox 360 or PS3 come packaged like that, so why video cards?

That being said, Mad Mod Mike still has to be about the worst idea ever...

...especially, because he "He slips into bedrooms at night...". IMO, that dude needs to keep his ass at the pool hall/dive bar and out of anyone's bedroom.

Errrrr.....NVIDIA felt sorry for Meatloaf after his last couple tours didn't do so well, so they gave him a jetpack.

Marketing directors have "theories" on psychology... If the marketing VIP of company X decides "we gotta put this hot rendered girl on the video card dude, it will totally appeal to our main market" then that is what is gonna happen.

To prove or disprove it you would have to make two models of a video card, completely identical in price and contents, except one has such a picture, and one does not. And see which one sells more.

The Laura Croft effect, where sex-and-violence merge in the feminine to titillate adolescent males in a declining culture.

You want more guys in that role?

.. and what do you mean by "adolescent" males are titillated by the LC effect??

- men rarely grow out of interest in sex - not unless they are very sick; and violence is deeply ingrained in our culture :p

Pretty simple; put a beer-guzzling, balding, male on the video card and watch the sales tank.

He slips into bedrooms at night and transforms the decrepit, underpowered computers of deserving gamers into raging performance beasts. His palette is chrome and semiconductors . . . his graphics card? Always the best, always from NVIDIA.

You DO realize who this is aimed at?
