What's with the gunfire in FEAR?

I squeeze the trigger on the SMG type gun (hotkey "1") and it fires like 6 consecutive rounds from a single trigger pull. What's up with that? The assault rifle is also difficult to burst with. Is this happening to everyone else or is something wrong here.

i found that if you fired at a wall..altho there was sparks and bullet holes, you only see about 10 even though i fired the entire magazine at the wall!

yeah, i kinda dont like the fireing in the game either, just feels sluggish to me. Like, u pulll the trigger, and then u hear the sound, and the gun jumps. I thought it was just me cuz i asked my friend if he noticed it, and he was like huh. I bugs the crap outa me, but if u play the game a bit, u get used to it, and its not so bad, i'm exited for the game either way.
