What's with people buying Microsoft software (a lot of software)

So many people are willing to buy MS software... Some on fs/ft thread... But the question is... Why?.

Resell?
Microsoft wanting em back?

a) building computers and want legal copies of software
b) reselling it for profit
c) hoping the currency changes from the dollar to the winxp cd.

if you go to a college that has a deal set up with MS or ant other big software vendor you can literally get Windows for 20$, i only paied 35$ for the full Adobe CS suite, could be that these people are doing that and the reselling it for more, which is illegal
