First it was Super Jail. Ok that is a cartoon meant for adults who are up at 12 AM on a Sunday, so that kind of makes sense. But now that same animation style and plots (or lack of) have slipped into a bunch of other cartoons such as Adventure Time, Regular Show and China, Illinois.

Don't tell me those cartoons were thought up on a clear mind.

And stuff like Ren and Stimpy was?

Adventure Time popped up while I was living overseas. I would get glimpses of it in my occasional trips back into American pop media. I don't quite get it. I kind of get the themes of the show but I don't understand why people were making as big of a deal of it as they seemed to have.

Because of all the college-aged stoners that like that late-night filth. "Early to bed, early to rise" provides richer and more cerebral entertainment (a new episode of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic airs every morning, 6:00AM PST).

I think Adventure Time and Regular Show are aimed at the kids and maybe the carry over from the college crowd given the time slot is early evening. Kids shows have always had some elements of insanity to them lately. Spongebob Squarepants is rather offbeat, would have liked to seen how they pitched that show.
