Intel seems to be making it hard to pick them with all the different chipsets and memory standards. Its now seems easier just to pick AMD.
I've gone with AMD for several years now and didn't give Intel more than a glance. I had pretty much decided on the AV7333 or the MSI ultra but I put things off. Things were delayed and now I'm looking at Intel also but there are so many chipsets and memory standards. Tomshardware has a table of all the choices and I'm still confused.
Anand has a recent review on 533 FSB processors and some of the Intels "trounce" the AMD's but the Abit board listed is an 850 and other places I see 845g or e preferred.

Whats are some of the best chipsets/boards to look at and what about the memory standards?
I don't overclock and I'm wanting RAID, audio, USB2, would like LAN, and firewire. The Abit MAX boards are interesting but I sometimes play with Linux/BSD so may need PS/2 once the OS's support the chipsets.

Also has anyone seen anything comparing the built-in RAIDs to normal IDE. How much performance gain, etc.
