:confused:I sent a hd in for rma in the end of Nov. and have not recieved replacement yet. Has shown as pending since Dec. 14. I have called and was told it should be on the way and the web is not updated frequently.(since when?) That was 2 wks ago. I just emailed again today. Anyone else having similiar problem?

I'm sending in my hard drive tomorrow... hope I don't get the runaround...

Sorry to hear about your luck, but if I was you, I would say you want a bigger drive or something to compensate for lost time/use...

Thanks for the advise, I will see what they say in their email and if they give me the run-around I will try it. I have always had great respect for WD in the past and am hoping it is just a fluke.

I did have respect for western digital, but now I don't know...

My maxtor that came with my computer (yes, I should have built my own, but didn't) has lasted all this time. I however bought a WD 40 gig for more storage, and had that one crap out. While that one was dead, I got a 60 gig western digital, used it, and finally got the replacement 40 gig. All was well, till a few days ago I found out my 60 gigger was bad. 2 drives bad, while my original maxtor 40 gig hard drive is still going strong. Really speaks for reliability and dependability doesn't it.

I ALWAYS cross-ship. They send me the drive before I send them anything. I don't like being empty-handed.

Shipping does add up but I have to say I am supprised that the hd manufacturers offer such a great warranty, especially since it worked untill i put in a promise ata100 card.
