I don't buy them. I'm complaining about the huge influx of them. there's like 3 every other day. it's annoying to see them on my steam new items thing. I have to go in and click "not interested". too bad you can't check "not interested" on certain genres. would certainly help.

There's like, 3 MOBA's every day too.

Equally infuriating, if you ask me.

Is it just me or is there a huge influx of anime style visual novel games and crappy mobile games on steam?

I guess we're leaving the tower defense era and entering into the visual novel era or games where you just kind of follow along in a story, like Gone Home, etc.

It's probably just because you are now "aware" of them. You inadvertantly look for them, because you hate them, so you notice them more. I personally hate mobas, and I can't seem to escape the ads for the stupid things.

Well, as far as visual novels, I don't think it was that far back since steam actually started allowing this type of game to be released on steam? So yeah, you getting more notices of them is probably semi new.

honestly there's a ton of crap on steam. you got a bunch of terrible games in the early access program. people are just putting out these terrible games and seeing what sticks. if they include trading cards you get hoarders buying the game that don't even care if the game is playable or not.
